A. LaRue  Bressler
A. LaRue Bressler, 91, formerly of 2551 Valley View Rd., Morgantown, died Monday, February 19. 2018 at Zerbe Sisters Retirement Community. Her husband, J. Martin “Marty” Bressler preceded her in death in 2005.
Born in Chester Co., she was the daughter of the late Earl and Lillian (McElroy) Ireson.
In the 1940’s, LaRue worked at the former New Holland Machine Company in the office. After her marriage, she became a homemaker.
She attended St. John Center Lutheran Church and had been the former organist and choir director at St. John. She had also been an organist at St. Peter’s Baptist Church and pianist at Bethesda Baptist Church. She was a talented musician with a style all her own. LaRue was also an avid quilter.
She was a former member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are four children: Bonnie married to Alvin McCoy, Morgantown, Betty Ann Trible, Delaplane,VA; John M. , Jr. married to Bobbi (Bensinger) Bressler, Oley; Ronald M. married to Sandra (Hartz) Bressler, Morgantown; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters, and a sister Elizabeth Mourar, Rosemont.
She was preceded in death by a sister Violet Miller and three brothers: Harry Ireson, Earl Ireson, Jr., Elwood “Sonny” Ireson.
Her memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 3 p.m. at St. John Center Lutheran Church with Vicar Mark Fischer officiating. Interment will be private in Center Union Cemetery.
