Thelma K. Martin, 93, a resident of Fairmount Homes, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 8, following a fall that required hip surgery.
She was the wife of the late Henry Martin who died in 2007. Her first husband Martin B. Martin, died in 2002. Born in Paradise Twp., she was the daughter of the late Roy R. and Ada Eby Kreider.
Thelma was a self-employed dress maker for many years. She was a member of the Blue Ball Mennonite Church. Previously she had been a member at Meadville Mennonite Church where she was the overseer of the sewing circle for 25 years. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Bible School for many years. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband to all of the lower 49 states by motorhome.
Surviving is a daughter, Marilyn K. wife of Ronald Siegrist of Lititz; two sons, Edward K. husband of Lillie Lapp Martin of Ronks, and Thomas K. husband of Susan Patterson Martin of Gap; eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren; and four step children, Carl, Mervin, Joyce and Doris. She was preceded in death by brothers, Eby, Clyde, Carl and Jay Kreider.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 16, at 10:00 A.M. at the Blue Ball Mennonite Church, 143 Ewell Road, Blue Ball, PA with Ministers Ray Weaver, Joel Martin, Arnold Martin and Elmer Zimmerman officiating. Friends may call at Fairmount Homes, Farm Crest Chapel, 1100 Farm Crest Drive, Ephrata, PA on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and at the church on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment in the Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery.
