Alice E. Horst, 90, formerly of East Earl, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center. She was the loving wife of J. Earl Horst, Sr., whom preceded her in death in 2010.

Born in Earl Township, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Martin) Esbenshade.

She was a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church and a homemaker. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and baking, flower and vegetable gardening, and needlework.

Alice is survived by 5 children: Wilmer Horst, husband of Naomi (Zeiset), of New Holland, J. Earl Horst, Jr., husband of Pamela (Arndt), of Ephrata, Wilma Ricker, wife of Glenn, of Gordonville, Beulah Snavely, wife of Joseph, of Manheim, and Barry Horst, husband of Sharon (Martin), of New Holland; 2 sisters: Margaret Wyble of New Holland and Anna Mary Horst, wife of David S., of Ephrata; 15 grandchildren: Stephen, Mike, Jeremy, Kevin, Dawn, Korey, Keri, Petru, Ioana, Tyler, Hillary, Kelsey, Alyssa, Jessalyn, and Mikayla; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Velma Weaver, Viola Buch, Helen Esbenshade, and Bertha Martin, a granddaughter, Kendra Weaver, and a son-in-law, Carl Weaver.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 11 AM at the Weaverland Mennonite Church, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl PA 17519 with Pastor Brian Martin officiating. Interment will be held privately in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday August 29 from 6-8 PM and visitation on Wednesday August 30 from 10:30 to 11 AM, both at the church.
