Rose Marie Harris, 85, of New Holland, formerly of Holland in Bucks County, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital after brief illness.

Born in Union City, PA she was the daughter of the late Lester A. and Marion (Fitzgerald) Courtright. She was married 62 years on July 9 to Ronald L. Harris, formerly of Union City, PA. She was known by most for her wonderful smile and beautiful white hair.

Rose retired in 1996 after 16 years in library services for Council Rock School District.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Holland since 2004 and a former member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Feasterville for 36 years.

She was devoted to her Christian faith and her family. She believed family was life's greatest blessings. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild in addition to the extended Harris and Courtright family

She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and was a fan of Penn State sports, Villanova basketball and the Phillies.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Rob, married to Debbie Harris of Port Matilda, two daughters, Rhonda Maloney of Birdsboro, and Renee, married to Richard Pusey, Jr. of Birdsboro; 6 grandchildren, Kyle, married to Sarah Harris, Alison Rose, married to Jake Pollock, Shane Pusey, Tyler Pusey, Alex Maloney, and Owen Pusey; a great grandson, Declan Harris; a brother, Edwin Courtright of Mishawaka, IN; and a sister, Martha Silka of Union City.

Preceding her in death are 6 brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Donatelli, Francis Courtright, Joseph Courtright, Margaret Przybyszewski, Joanne Wroblewski, and Mary Saeed Afandi.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 15 at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Charles Oberkehr officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Union City. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the Church from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 221 E.
