My Memories

I loved spending time with my Grandma Wise, especially when I'd spend the night at her house because I knew it would be filled with my favorite things. She always had something sweet to eat, time for another round of Uno, coloring books and crayons, Strawberry Shortcake dolls to play with, a full candy dish, movies on VHS, and most importantly a listening ear; which I know took a lot of patience because I filled every ounce of silence with conversation. She never got agitated when I'd pull out the ruler to see how tall I was compared to her, and after I surpassed her height she'd always remark on how tall I'd gotten and tell me to stop growing.

Christmas morning was my absolute favorite and it wasn't about the gifts, it was because we always went to Grandma Wise's house for breakfast with the entire family. She ran a full restaurant from her four burner stove and oven that morning and fed every person that walked through her front door on which a singing Christmas wreath announced your arrival. Her dippy eggs were the greatest, her homemade strawberry jelly the sweetest, and the chocolate milk was always ice cold.

These memories and the millions more I hold dear to my heart will never be forgotten. I love you Grandma!
