Ivan W. Martin, 88, of East Earl, died Monday, May 29, 2017 at Fairmount Homes after a lengthy illness.
Born in Caernarvon Twp., Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Weaver) Martin. His wife, Ruth (Zimmerman) Martin, died Nov. 30, 2014.
Ivan was a farmer most of his life but also worked for a time as a farm equipment mechanic for the former Dependable Motor in Honey Brook.
He was a member of Goodville Mennonite Church and enjoyed reading, going to sales, and tinkering with farm equipment.
Surviving are five children, Lester Z. Martin of Morgantown, Wilmer Z., married to Joyce (Kauffman) Martin of Reading, Nelson Z. Martin of New Holland, Janice Z. Martin of Landisville, and Diane Z., married to Grant Price of Pennsburg; two grandchildren, Julie, married to Todd Weber and Chad, married to Michelle Martin; a great grandson, Bryce Weber; and a brother, David, married to Lizzie (Rissler) Martin of Narvon.
Preceding him in death are three brothers, Weaver, Levi, and Amos Martin; and two sisters, Mary Wenger, and Martha Brubaker Ringler.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 2 pm at Goodville Mennonite Church, 1556 Main St., Goodville with the Pastors Bruce Sauder, Kelly Martin, and Nelson Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 6-8 pm and on Saturday from 1-2 pm.
