Elvin K. Martin, 71, of Denver, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at his residence. He was the loving husband of Barbara O. (Sensenig) Martin, with whom he shared over 49 years of marriage.
Born in Ephrata, he was a son of the late Ivan G. and Eva B. (Kurtz) Martin.
Elvin was a member of Pequea Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference. Elvin worked as a dairy farmer for over 25 years. In his spare time he enjoyed singing, tractors, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Elvin is survived by 5 children: Dwain Martin, husband of Shana (Heisey), of East Earl, Beverly Rutt, wife of Larry, of Ephrata, Christa Rutt, wife of Nelson, of Ephrata, Dawn Seibel, wife of Kevin, of Fort Shaw, MT, and Dean Martin, husband of Dawn, of Denver; 6 siblings: Louella K. Zimmerman, wife of Harvey N., of Bethel, Ivan K. Martin, husband of Gloria E. (Tipping), of Lititz, Eugene K. Martin, husband of Carol (Weaver), of Ephrata, Clair K. Martin, husband of Mary Lou (Sensenig), of Port Royal, Glen K. Martin, husband of Terry (Dunstan), of Lititz, and Ralph M. Martin of Lititz; two sisters-in-law: Ida O. Musser of Newmanstown and Mary Jane Martin of Manheim; 21 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Elvin was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Anna H. Martin, and his brothers Cloyd K. and Mervin K. Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 9:15 AM at Fairmount homes, Farmcrest Chapel, 1100 Farmcrest Dr., Ephrata, with further services at 10 AM at Pequea Mennonite Church with Bishop Curvin Zimmerman, Marlin Zimmerman, Loren Nolt, Paul Newswanger, and James Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be held in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Fairmount Homes, Farmcrest Chapel. Kindly omit flowers.
