Mary M.  O'Brien (Miller)
Mary Magdalene (Miller) O'Brien, 96, formerly of Narvon, PA, went home with her Lord on Dec. 16, 2014, at St. Anne's Retirement Community, Columbia.
She was the wife of the late Robert "Fuzzy" O'Brien for 68 years. He preceded her in death in 2007. Both hailed from Scranton, PA, and relocated to Lancaster County in 1946.
As a homemaker, Mary had a passion for life and growing many different flowers and vegetables. Her wild fox grape jelly was always greatly received as gifts, along with her raspberry jam. She also loved canning the fruits of her labor.
Reading and crossword puzzles were also her favorite things to do, but learning to paint with water color pencils at St. Anne's was her favorite activity that she would never miss.
She was a member of Twin Valley Bible Chapel near Morgantown.
Mary is survived by three of her five children; Curtis O'Brien, of Narvon; Dorothy, wife of Bob Wilkinson, Lititz, PA; and Mary, wife of Neil White, York, PA. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by the following siblings; Ed Miller, NJ; Delores Russell, of Narvon; Walter Williams, of Narvon; Jennie Glassman, of Narvon; and Owen Williams of NJ. She was also preceded in death by her two children; Daniel O'Brien, of Narvon, on Dec.15, 2014; and Pauline Getz, of Narvon, in 1995.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 19, at 2:30 pm at the Groff-High-Eckenroth Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with the Chaplain Dan Derk officiating. Interment will be in the Bridgeville Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday, at the funeral home, from 1:30 -2:30 pm. To send the family online condolences visit us at www.groffeckenroth.com.
