Obituary for Richard G. Orbin

Richard G.  Orbin
Richard G. Orbin, 86, of 360 Warren St., New Holland, PA, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Ephrata Manor. His wife of 60 years, Joanne (Burdine) Orbin, survives.

Born in Warren, OH, he was the son of the late William Grant and Adele (McCall) Orbin.

Richard worked as a printer, retiring after 30 years with Republic Steel, Youngstown. He then worked for 17 years at Control Transformer, Cortland, OH. While employed at both companies, he also worked as a mechanic at the local gas station.

He was a member of the Transfer Baptist Church, Transfer, PA and had also been a volunteer driver for Meals-on-Wheels.

During World War II, he served in the U. S. Navy on the USS Independence.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Jaime married to John M. Gould, New Holland and Lisa married to John A. Boecker, Wellsville, PA; four grandchildren; and a sister Charis Cox, North Little Rock, AR.

Services will be private with burial in Westside Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorials may be sent to Hospice & Community Care, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
