Obituary for John B Seldomridge Jr.

John B. Seldomridge, Jr., 79, of Honey Brook, passed peacefully into Heaven on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at home, following a lengthy illness.
He was married 61 years to Dorothy Styer Seldomridge. Born and raised in Honey Brook, Township, he was the son of the late John B. and Grace Buchanan Seldomridge.
He was an early riser, raised on a farm, and married his high school sweetheart. Together they operated John B. Seldomridge, Jr. Excavating for over 52 years. It was the hours spent on his backhoe that he envisioned their life’s projects. He was the owner of John’s Supply and Rental, Narvon, PA and grateful for his right hand man, John “Skinner” Brill for 45 years.
He attended Calvary Fellowship Church in Honey Brook. He enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, and El Caminos. He was an honest and driven man that loved life, his family and sharing stories with his friends. One of his last parting sentences was, “Thank you God for everything.”
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Debbie wife of Keith Elmer, Susan wife of Rob Shirk, and Jackie “Jake” wife of Perry “Ace” Phillips; his only little granddaughter and the light of his life, Lucy May Phillips, and his dog, Molly, all of Honey Brook.
In Celebration of a Wonderful Man’s life, a service will be held at the Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, PA on Saturday, January 12, at 2:00 P.M. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Interment in the Honey Brook United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Seldomridge’s memory may be made to Calvary Fellowship of Honey Brook, 80 Village Square, Honey Brook, PA 19344 or to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
