Obituary for Roy M. "Doc" Weaver

Roy M. “Doc” Weaver, 78, of New Holland, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 5, 2019.
Born in Ephrata, he was a son of the late Moses M. and Mary (Miller) Weaver. He was married 60 years on May 18 to Thelma I. (Pfautz) Weaver.
Roy worked as a truck driver 15 years for Favorite MFG, 15 years for Fleur DeLait, and five years for Honey Brook Custom Cabinets. He retired in 2005 after 47 years of driving.
Roy was a member of the Bridgeville Evangelical Congregational Church, the Howell Lodge #405 F&AM in Honey Brook, the American Truck Historical Society, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed cars, trucks, his 1978 Corvette, and the love of his life were his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Brenda L., married to Tim Sheaffer of Bowmansville, Cynthia Ann Reiff of Leola, Brian S., married to Sharon (Stark) Weaver of Leola, and Craig R., married to Dore (Harlan) Weaver of Adamstown; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; three sisters, Ruth, married to Larry Cashwiler of East Earl, Betty J., married to Marvin Bennetch of Denver, and Kathryn Hertzog of Clay; and a brother, Richard M., married to Trudy (Auker) Weaver of Ephrata.
Preceding him in death is a son-in-law, Elvin Reiff; and two sisters, Helen M. Weaver and Arlene Wanner.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12 at 11 am at Bridgeville E.C. Church, 5971 Division Hwy., Narvon, PA 17555. Interment will be in the Bridgeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday from 9 to 11 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Bridgeville E.C.
