Obituary for Juana Maria Abreu (Colon)

Juana M. Abreu, 93, of New Holland, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Venancio M. “Peanut” Abreu who died in 2017. Born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Andres and Serafina Lebron Colon.
Juana was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in New Holland. She enjoyed Bingo, going to the Casino at Delaware Park and Cooking and was well known for her Rice and Beans.
Surviving are six children, Barbara wife of Harold Frankhouser of Narvon, Julia wife of Bill Hankle of Lititz, twin sons, Ped husband of Nancy Abreu of Lancaster, and Carmelo husband of Judith Abreu of REenholds, Lydia wife of Jerry Griffith of New Holland, and John Abreu of Lancaster. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons, Angel Colon and Louie Colon, a daughter-in-law Hwa Abreu and by a great grandson, Joshua Hux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 5, at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water Street, New Holland, PA with The Rev. John McLoughlin as Celebrant. A viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Abreu’s memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 684 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
