Marian E. Brady, 89, of New Holland, formerly of Gordonville, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Garden Spot Village after a brief illness.

Born in New Holland she was the daughter of the late Laura (Means) Owens but was raised by her grandparents, the late George and Mary Anna Means. Her husband, Samuel L. Brady, died March 25, 2010. They celebrated 56 years of marriage at the time of his passing.

Marian was a homemaker but also worked many years for Shreiner’s Flowers and Brattons Wood Shop at Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse.

Marian was a member of Pequea E.C. Church where she served over 50 years as a Sunday school teacher. She also served as a Jr. Church leader and a Vacation Bible School teacher. She was an avid reader and enjoyed Word Search puzzles along with spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters, Debra married to John Sargent of Strasburg, Mary married to Garry Lookingbill of Mountville, and Sandra married to Dennis Martin of Lititz; four granddaughters, Carla married to Kevin Yoder, Kristie married to Robert Poyer, Kelsey Martin, and Kaitlyn Martin; three great grandsons, Garret Yoder, Jacob Poyer and Benjamin Poyer; a brother, Benjamin Owens of Lancaster; and a sister, Charlotte Farmer of Virginia.

Preceding her in death is her twin sister, Mary Owens; and a brother, Raymond Means.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8 at 11:00 am at Pequea Evangelical Congregation Church, 5482 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, PA 17527. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Friday, Dec. 7 from 6:30–8:00 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland and on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am at the Church.
