Charles D. Spencer, age 92, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at home in Garden Spot Village in New Holland, PA, a few days after he joyfully celebrated Thanksgiving with his family.
Charles was born on April 25, 1926 to Horace F. and Helen (Shepherd) Spencer and grew up in Glen Rock, NJ with his older sister, Nancy and younger brother, John. Milligan. After starting a family in Whippany, NJ, employment led him to Newark, DE, where he eventually retired from DuPont. His Christian faith was central to his life, and he served as a deacon and elder at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Newark Delaware. In addition to family, he enjoyed playing the piano, workshop projects, and gardening and landscaping.
Chuck will be missed by his beloved wife, Dot; daughter Karen and husband Ed Voigt of Ephrata, PA; son Glenn and wife Cindy of Bridgewater, NJ; and 6 granddaughters (Julie, Caitlin & Erica Voigt, and Anna, Grace & Olivia Spencer) who will remember him as Deedad.
