Esther F (Bollinger) Fox went to be with her LORD and Savior Jesus Christ on October 27, 2018. Born on July 17, 1931 in Clay Township, Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Edward K and Emma G Bollinger.
Growing up on a farm during the depression taught her the value of faith, family and hard work. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Raub’s Sub Stand at Roots and Green Dragon markets for over 40 years. She also for a time worked at a greenhouse and candy outlet store. She will be remembered for putting her faith into practice and her beautiful smile.
She was a lifelong attendee of Middle Creek Church of the Brethren in Lititz and was baptized in 1945. She taught children’s Sunday School, was a nursery attendant and also helped in the kitchen for many years.
She enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, western United States, Canada and Germany. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Her delicious raspberry pies were her specialty. She also enjoyed Word Finds and putting puzzles together.
Preceded in death by her husband Ivan of 34 years in 1987, Esther was a faithful wife who tended to his needs, especially during the last 3 years of his life. She was also preceded in death by a son, Fred in 2016 and a brother Warren in 1994.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family. Surviving are sons Dwight (husband of Janet), and Daniel, her grandchildren Charles (husband of Beth), Erick, and Jennifer and great grandchildren Owen, Eli, Garrett and Dylan. She is also survived by a sister Vera Smoker (wife of Earl) and brother Harold Bollinger (husband of Nancy).
At Esther’s request, there will not be a viewing and the burial will be private. There will be a memorial service for friends and family at Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 Middle Creek Road, Lititz, PA 17543 on Saturday, November 3 at 11:00 AM, followed by a light lunch.
