James E. Weidner, 81, of New Holland, formerly of Chester County, died Friday, October 26, 2018 at Garden Spot Village after a lengthy illness.
Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late R. Stanley and Lola Mae (Kern) Weidner. He was married 61 years on June 6 to Joan R. (Mowery) Weidner.
James retired in 1991 from Philadelphia Electric Company.
He was a member of Highpoint Baptist Chapel in Geigertown.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Deborah S. Weiss Kolmus, married to Russell J. Kolmus of Elverson; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, David, married to Ruth Weidner of East Earl; and a sister, Mary Ellen, married to David Wurm of Fairbanks, AK.
Preceding him in death is a son, J. Todd Weidner; and a brother, Joseph Weidner.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov. 2 at 2 pm at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland. Private interment will be at the Limerick Garden of Memories at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to High Point Baptist Chapel, www.highpointbaptist.org.
