Mildred Jones, 93, of Ephrata, formerly of New Holland, was called to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, October 11, 2018
She was the wife of the late James O. Jones who died in 1995. Born in Schoeneck, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Emma Harting Getz.
Mildred had worked in the cafeteria at New Holland Elementary School for 20 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Holland, where she had taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served on the outreach and social ministry committees. She was also involved with the ABWA and the Ephrata Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets for the hospital, following the Phillies and volunteering with Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda A. wife of William T. Montgomery of Lancaster, Teresa F. wife of I. Lee Arment of Denver, and Wendy L. wife of Robert K. Hammer of Manheim; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren; and a brother Robert H. husband of Barbara Kring Getz of Denver. She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene H. Yost.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 16, at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 E. Main St., New Holland, PA. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Mellinger’s Lutheran Cemetery, Schoeneck, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Jones’ memory may be made to the Memorial Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church, 221 E. Main St., New Holland, PA 17557.
