Patricia M. Kelley, 82, of New Holland and, formerly, Havertown, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2018, at Garden Spot Village. Born to the late Christine (Kayser) and Harold Honmyhr, she grew up in Minneapolis and became a musician and Spanish teacher. In the 1950s, she played the accordion at Soldier’s Field as a Chicagoland Music Festival winner. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Spanish and a Master’s from Purdue University in Teaching. She married Paul R. Kelley, and they shared raising a family, contributing to their community, enjoying the fellowship of friends, and vacationing in the Adirondacks.
Pat was a homemaker, family chauffeur, caregiver to her mother, gardener, cheerful hostess, and good neighbor. She was an active leader in the community. At Union United Methodist Church, she was the first female president of the board of trustees. As president of Haverford High’s Band and Orchestra Parents, she managed the acquisition of new band uniforms. She served as an election inspector. And for 15 years, she was coordinator of the Haverford Township Adult School.
In addition to her devoted husband, Pat is survived by their son, Paul A. (Lauren Dicair, partner); daughter, Laura C. Hart (Edward Hart, husband); 9 cousins; and 3 sisters-in-law and their families.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at the Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Private interment will be in Media Cemetery.
