Obituary for Harold S. Coldren

Harold S. Coldren, 92, of Blue Ball died Friday, October 5, 2018 at Sunrise of Exton. His wife of 71 years, Evelyn E. (Esbenshade) Coldren, survives.

Born in East Earl, he was the son of the late Joseph and Della (Styer) Coldren.

During World War II, Harold served in the U. S. Navy.

Harold was the developer and owner of Log Cabin Court in East Earl.

He was a member of Bergstrasse Lutheran Church, a former fire truck driver and lifetime member of Blue Ball Fire Company, now Garden Spot Fire Rescue, the Hershey Antique Car Club, and Old Dominion Packard Club and was a former member of the Howell Lodge, F & AM, Honey Brook, the Scottish Rite, Reading, and the Rajah Shriners. When he was able, he enjoyed transporting patients to the Shriners’ Hospital.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Larry married to Colleen Coldren, East Earl and Dale Coldren, Cambridge, MD; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella Seldomridge and Kathryn Hoffert.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 2 – 3:30 p.m. at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. A Graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with Pastor Jeffrey Goodman officiating. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorials may be sent to Willow Tree Hospice, 616 E.
