Kenneth C. Hertzler
Kenneth C. Hertzler, 77, of Morgantown, went to heaven on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his home. His wife, Ginny (Gill) Hertzler, survives. They would have been married for 52 years on October 29.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Ralph S. and Barbara (Mast) Hertzler.

Ken was an entrepreneur throughout his life. After graduating from Twin Valley High School, which he named by winning a contest in 6th grade, he farmed with his father and brother for 8 years. He and his father then owned and operated the Twin Slope Farmers’ Market in Morgantown for 17 years while operating a fruit and produce stand in the Twin Slope Market. He also co-owned Polly’s Restaurant for 2 years and sold log homes for a number of years.

He had many interests including playing 3rd base for the Morgantown Bombers and Honey Brook Comets. He and his brother were inducted into the ASA of Pennsylvania Hall of Fame in 2008. He managed and played for the Twin Slope ball team, played ice hockey at Overlook and Central Penn Hockey League in Hershey, and played in the GBGA gold league every Monday and Thursday.

He enjoyed motorcycling with friends, flying his Cardinal, 177 Cessna, singing in the Twin Valley Choral Group and Gap Male Chorus.

He seldom missed Buck season with the Dutch Masters at Slate Run, PA. He and his father built a hunting cabin near Dundee, NY.

Additionally, he attended Christian Fellowship Church, served on the building committee at Tel Hai Retirement Community and on the board of Tel Hai Camp.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jill married to Jack Greenly, Morgantown, two grandsons, Tyler and Blake and a brother Jim Hertzler, Narvon.
