Obituary for Rosene M. Martin

Rosene M. Martin, 70, of Ephrata, formerly of Narvon, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Fairmount Homes after a lengthy illness.

Born in Ephrata, she was a daughter of the late D. Walter and Anna Mary (Martin) Martin.

Before her retirement she had been employed at Martin’s Pretzel Bakery and at a cafeteria at Green Dragon. She had also taught many years at the following private schools: Good’s, White Oak, Valley View, Farmersville Mennonite, and Hillside Special Education. Before her teaching career she was employed at Shirlee’s Manufacturing in Terre Hill as a sewing machine operator.

She was a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

Surviving are two brothers and eight sisters, Edwin Z., husband of Esther (Good) Martin of Denver, Daniel Martin of Narvon, Rachel, married to Henry VanZee of Stevens, Anna Mary Martin of Narvon, Lucy Martin of Narvon, Martha, married to Noah Burkholder of Dundee, NY, Nancy, married to Leon Zimmerman of Narvon, Rebecca, married to Leonard Martin of Memphis, MO, Bertha, married to Elvin Sensenig of Reinholds, and Elsie, married to Lawrence Zimmerman of Orrstown; a sister-in-law, Alma (Wenger) Martin of New Holland; and 38 nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents is a brother, Paul Z. Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 17 at 9:30 am at Bowmansville Mennonite Church 980 Oaklyn Dr., Narvon with the Bishop Leon S. Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 5-8 pm at Fairmount Homes, Wheat Ridge Chapel, 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata. Kindly omit flowers.
