Linda Winterstein, 69, of New Holland, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 20, 2018 after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer.
Born in Harrisburg and grew up in Pillow, she was a daughter of the late Fred C. and Norma (Kahler) Shiffer. She was married to her beloved John E. Winterstein 36 years on Aug. 12. Her first husband, David H. Ripple, died in 1972.
Linda graduated from Upper Dauphin High School. She retired in 2013 after 11 years as a receptionist at the former Blue Ball National Bank.
She was a member at Salem Bible Church in Voganville. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, family gatherings, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her life was built around her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Jennifer R., married to Bill Livingood of Denver, CO, and Jessica R., married to John Mueller of Pittsburgh; three step sons, Stephen P., married to Elisa Winterstein of Feasterville, Michael E. Winterstein of Lancaster, and Barry L., married to Liliana Winterstein of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren, Ross and Dale Boczar, Jay and Lane Winterstein, Manuela Estrada, Cassie, Maddie, and Jack Mueller, and Kati and Will Livingood; a brother, Tony, married to Christine Shiffer of Millersburg; a sister, Rita Shiffer of Elizabethville; two nieces, Natasha and Rachel Feidt; and a nephew, Joshua Feidt.
Preceding her in death is a brother, Richard Shiffer.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 3 pm at Salem Bible Church, 590 Voganville Road, New Holland, with the Reverend David Fry officiating. Private family interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lancaster Cancer Center, P.O.
