Mary M. Horning, 92, of 1694 Turkey Hill Road, East Earl, died Thursday, May 31, 2018 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Caernarvon Twp., she was a daughter of the late John M. and Lydia (Martin) Zeiset. Her husband, Mahlon W. Horning, died March 18, 2010.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are 14 children, Samuel, married to Alice (Martin) Horning of Mifflinburg, Phares, married to Anna (Hoover) Horning of Mifflinburg, Allen, married to Eva (Martin) Horning of Thorp, WI, Edna Horning at home, Mahlon, married to Ada (Brubaker) Horning of Penn Yan, NY, Leon, married to Rebecca (Hoover) Horning of East Earl, Alma Horning at home, Mary Ann, married to Willis Leid of Lewisburg, KY, Ivan, married to Ada (Hoover) Horning of Mifflinburg, Erma Horning of East Earl, Lloyd, married to Elsie (Nolt) Horning of Cerulean, KY, Miriam Horning of East Earl, Earl, married to Mary Ann (Sauder) Horning of Owen, WI, and Edward, married to Catherine (Hurst) Horning of Stanley, WI; 86 grandchildren; 240 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 7 sisters and 3 brothers, Alta Sauder, Paul, married to Leah (Zimmerman) Zeiset, Mabel, married to Abram H. Martin, Jonas, married to Anna (Nolt) Zeiset, Laura, married to Leroy Zimmerman, Vera, married to Levi Leid, Eva, married to Isaac H. Martin, Esther, married to Allen Weaver, Lena, married to Abram Ringler, and Ivan, married to Naomi (Ringler) Zeiset.
Preceding her in death is daughter, Ellen Horning; a daughter-in-law, Ellen (Zimmerman) Horning, wife of Earl; along with 6 sisters and 5 brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 4 at 9 am at the late home with further services at 9:30 am at Bowmansville Mennonite Church with the Bishop Elam Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the late home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
