Obituary for John W. Henretty

John W. Henretty, 57, of Bowmansville, died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Mifflin Center, Shillington, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Wilmington, DE, he was a son of the late G. Wayne and Shirley (Johnson) Henretty.

He worked as a meat cutter for several area Acme Markets.

He was a member of St. John’s Center U.C.C. He was an Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers fan. He enjoyed traveling to his granddaughter’s softball tournaments and his grandson’s wrestling tournaments. He and his grandson Michael had “their own language” and spent lots of time joking around. His grandkids were his life. He also enjoyed watching sports with friends and family. He said many times, “just share my story when I’m gone.”

Surviving is a daughter, Jamie Henretty of Quarryville; a son, Justin Henretty of Bowmansville; a son-in-law, Dave Flatt of Quarryville; a daughter-in-law, Jessica Wiseley of Bowmansville; three grandchildren, Alyssa Henretty, Dominic Flatt, and Michael Henretty; a brother, Bob, married to Deb Henretty of Denver; a sister, Jill, married to Terry Martin of Narvon; and his former wife, Donna Henretty of Quarryville.

Preceding him in death is a son, Joshua Henretty in 2007.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 21 at 11 am at St. John’s Center U.C.C., 432 Reading Road, East Earl, with the Reverend R. Kenneth Evitts and the Reverend Brad Haws officiating. Viewing will be held at the Church on Monday from 10-11.
