Obituary for Kathleen M. Messner (Kohl)

Kathleen M. Messner, 81, of Narvon, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy after a lengthy illness.
Born in Denver, she was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Florence (Roth) Kohl. She was married 17 years on Oct. 13 to John R. Messner, Sr.
Kathleen was a homemaker most of her life but in her younger years she worked as a seamstress in several area sewing factories.
She was a member of Mt. Culmen E. C. Church and enjoyed gardening, baking, and painting ceramics.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Russell C., Jr., husband of Betty Jo Kennedy of Seaford, DE; a daughter, Kelly Shaeffer of Denver; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 9 brothers and sisters, Henry Kohl of Ephrata, Rhoda Reigle of Reading, Richard Kohl of Narvon, Robert Kohl of Narvon, Delores Jaxel of Ephrata, Delrae Ream of Narvon, Virginia Loose of Ephrata, Jeffrey Kohl of Denver, and Clair Kohl of Denver.
Preceding her in death are 2 sons, Ronald E. Kennedy and Edward E. Weitzel; a grandson, Russell C. Kennedy, III; a brother, Andrew J. Kohl, Jr.; and a sister, Carol A. Ream.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19 at 10 am at Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
