Obituary for Marie "Grace" Pelligra (Lefebvre)

Marie “Grace” Pelligra, age 79, went home to be with her Lord on March 20, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She died peacefully at home in Denver, PA with her family by her side.

Grace was born to the late Albert & Laurentia Lefebvre on April 6, 1938. She grew up in Milltown NJ and worked for Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick NJ until she assumed the bookkeeping role in the family catering business.

Grace married her beloved husband, Luke on June 4, 1960. They bought a house right next to her family home in Milltown where they lived many happy years. They eventually began their own catering business, Twin Oaks Caterers, where Grace assumed the office manager and bookkeeping role. Grace was a loving mother to her 4 children and she was a master at keeping the home fires burning along with the business demands. Grace & Luke retired to Barnegat NJ where they enjoyed life on the Barnegat bay. Grace was a wonderful hostess and made everyone feel welcome and loved when visiting in their home. Grace was an active member of Manahawkin Baptist Church and served in many ways helping those in need in the church and community.

Grace is survived by her husband Luke along with her 4 children; her daughter Sandy (Brian) Robinson, and sons, Michael (Kathy) Pelligra, Richard (Linda) Pelligra & Daniel (Joanne) Pelligra. She was the loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Jane Moccio and Beatrice (Al) Drost, and brother, Robert Lefebvre.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Laurentia and her four brothers, Paul, Adrian, Romeo & Morris.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21 at Manahawkin Baptist Church, 400 Beach Ave. Manahawkin, NJ at 11:30 AM. The family invites you to join them for a light luncheon directly after the service for a time of fellowship and greeting the family.

In lieu of flowers gifts can be sent in memory of Grace to Handi*Vangelism Ministries, PO Box 122 Akron PA 17501 (hvmi.org). Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, PA.
