Obituary for William G. Shuman Jr.
William G. Shuman, Jr., 58, of Gordonville, died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home after a brief illness.
Born in Lancaster, he was a son of Nancy G. (Knopp) Shuman Schlossman of Leola and the late William G. Shuman. His wife, Cynthia L. (Hess) Shuman, died March 17, 2016.
William worked as a van driver for Lighthouse Vocational Services in New Holland for the past 10 years.
He was always willing to lend a hand to help someone and enjoyed hard work, NASCAR, and football.
Surviving in addition to his mother is a son, Derick Scott Wise; three sisters and a brother, Patricia, married to Robert Frame of Lebanon, Lynn, married to Tom Hiesiy of Sarasota, FL, Robert C., married to Danielle Shuman of Quarryville, and Susanna, married to Jeff Merry of New Hampshire; his mother and father-in-law, Thelma Hess of Intercourse and H. Lynn Hess of Reading; and a brother-in-law, Brian Hess of New Holland.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 1 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be in the Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 12-1 pm at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
