The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Charles Smith can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Ed and Jean Howell
Condolence: Dear Esther, Bruce, Cheryl and families,
Ed and I are in FL during the winter and he always reads the newspaper each morning and learned there of Charlie's passing.

Ed and I are so sorry to hear of your loss of your dear loved one. Even though Charlie was not a young man, we are never ready to part with such a precious loved one. We are so sorry. We just pray that you will find peace in all your memories of him and that our Heavenly Father will wrap his arms around you and give you all the peace and comfort that you need to comfort you.
Charlie was a fine man and we always liked and had a lot of respect for him through the years that we knew him. It is too bad that as the years moved on and our children and activities changed our directions that we didn't have time to spend together. We had always enjoyed them.

I am wondering if you remember, Esther, the fun times that you and I shared, when you were working behind where we lived and you would come up to our apartment on Main Street and "bring" your lunch and we would eat and talk and talk. Those were such fun times and always remembered.
We just pray that you are well and that all your family is well and pray that God will bless you and comfort you in your loss of a fine gentleman. May God bless you all. With our love, Jean and Ed

Condolence: My very first airplane ride was given to me by Uncle Charles. I remember vividly my younger brother not wanting to go because he wasn’t allowed to take his blanket with him. When we were up in the air I was amazed and scared all at the same time. Thank you for that special memory and experience, Uncle Charles.
