Floy E.  Baker (Wenger)
Floy E. (Wenger) Baker, 89, of Denver, died on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Fairmount Homes after a brief illness. She was born in Bareville to the late Amon G. and Esther V. (Zuck) Wenger and was the wife of the late Norman L. Baker who passed away in 2002.
Floy graduated from Upper Leacock High School in 1946 and was employed by New Holland Machine Company as a secretary until her marriage in 1952. From 1971-1988 she worked at the former SLC sewing factory in Terre Hill and Blue Ball. Norman and Floy also farmed together for 50 years. She was a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church and active in the sewing circle. Floy enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, reading, growing flowers, watching the birds, and playing table games. She was a faithful friend and prayer warrior.
She is survived by five children: Carolyn married to John Herr, New Holland; John married to Suzanne (Horning) Baker, Mohnton; Beverly married to Linford Weaver, Reinholds; Gerald married to Dawn (Musser) Baker, Ferryville, WI; and Ray married to Cheryl (Martin) Baker, Soldiers Grove, WI; a son-in-law Clair Weaver, Winchester, TN; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four foster great-grandchildren; four siblings: Clyde Wenger married to Shirley (Hauck), Strasburg; Lloyd Wenger married to Wilma (Espenshade), Leola; Jay Wenger married to Leah (Achenbach), Akron; Elaine married to Thomas Giorgio, Lancaster; and a sister-in-law Nancy (Smith) Wenger.
In addition to her husband, Floy was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Weaver; granddaughter, Carla Herr; grandson, James Weaver; and two siblings, Ruth Kreider and Earl Wenger.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl, PA. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 5:30–8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, at Fairmount Homes, Wheat Ridge Chapel, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata.
