Obituary for Jon Robert "Rob" Petersheim

Print
Jon Robert "Rob" Petersheim, 62, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018.
Survived by his two sons, Gage William & Tanner LeRoy (both at home) as well as his wife, Susan Marie (Parker) Petersheim.
In addition, Rob is survived by his father LeRoy Kurtz Petersheim, sisters Beth Ann (Linford) Petersheim Good and Anna Ruth Petersheim (Edward) Gawlinski, as well as "Grandma Grace" Leaman. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Lou Wingard Petersheim. Rob is also survived by his wonderful nieces and nephews: Rachel & Brendon Good and Alina & Colin Gawlinski.

Rob worked for many years at Everence Financial (formerly Mennonite Mutual Aid) as a financial planner and insurance agent.
He loved coaching and supporting his children in Conestoga Valley sports at the midget and high school level.
Much thanks and blessings go to the Conestoga Valley community; your guidance, friendship and love for our family will never be forgotten. Rob especially loved every second he spent on the field, the court, and on the diamond with you.
An avid Track & Field guy, Rob still has a record standing at Garden Spot high school in the 3200 relay with his (then future brother in law) Linford Good.
Rob met his wife Susan at Universal Athletic Club in 1994. He asked her out for six years until she finally relented.
They had their first date on December 10, 1999. They were engaged on her lunch break in February 2000.
Rob & Susan were married at James Street Mennonite Church by Pastor Leon Miller on November 4, 2000.
They were blessed with their first child, Gage William in April 2002. Their second son, Tanner LeRoy, followed in August 2004.
On November 24, 2014 Rob was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. It was his sincere wish that all men get tested ASAP, starting at age 50. This disease is curable if caught early. GET TESTED!

Much thanks to the amazing staff at Lancaster Urology for your loving care these last few years.
To our many friends; our family is richer for having known you all and we will continue to honor Rob's memory through you.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 4, at 2:00 P.M. at the James Street Mennonite Church, 323 W. James St., Lancaster, PA.
