Obituary for Elizabeth M. Hess

Elizabeth M. Hess, 76, of Pequea, entered into her eternal rest on January 21, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care in Mt. Joy following a six month battle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary E. Leaman Hess.
Elizabeth was a member of Byerland Mennonite Church and most recently attended Bright Side Baptist Church where she was involved in taking her Lancaster friends to church.
She loved cooking and baking which she acquired by helping on the family farm. She had tended a stand at Central Market with baked goods and produce. After closing the market business in 1989 she had been employed as a baker at the Bird-In-Hand Bake Shop and at ManorCare in Lancaster.
Surviving are two sisters, Anna Marie wife of John Hochstetler of Pine Bush, NY and Grace A. Hess of Pequea; a brother, Charles A. husband of Lois Ober Hess of Pequea, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, B. Daniel Hess, Elmer L. Hess, and an infant brother, and by a sister Mary L. Hess.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 26, at 6:30 P.M. at the Byerland Mennonite Church, 931 Byerland Church Road, Willow Street, PA. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Interment in the New Danville Mennonite Church Cemetery.
