Obituary for Janine R. Toth (Brooks)

Janine R. Toth, 47, of Leola, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was the wife of Terry L. Toth. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Mary Rose Carello Paules of Leola, and the late James. G. “Skip” Brooks. She was also the step daughter of Dale Paules.

Janine graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School in 1988 and from Millersville University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. She was employed as a warranty consultant for Champion Homes in Ephrata, and had previously been a TSS at Wheatland Elementary School.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New Holland. Janine was proud to be part of the Conestoga Valley Football Booster Club and for many years had run the concession stand at football games. She enjoyed going to the beach and scrapbooking but her favorite thing in the world was being a mother and grandmother. Nothing made her more proud than that accomplishment.

Surviving besides her husband, mother and step father are five sons, Tom Toth of Lancaster, Casey Toth of Leola and his daughter Addison, Joey DeWitt of Lancaster, Jonah Goodlin of Wrightsville, and John Brooks of Leola; four daughters, Nichole DeWitt and her daughter Selina of Mount Joy, Regina DeWitt, who is expecting in June, of Quarryville, Katie Toth of Honey Brook and Meghan Weinstein of Lancaster; and two brothers, Jim husband of Heather and John Brooks, all of Lancaster. Additionally, she is survived by a considerable network of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 5, at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water Street, New Holland, PA with The Rev. Walter Guzman as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, PA on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janine’s memory may be made to Children and Youth’s Services, 150 N. Queen St, Suite 111, Lancaster, PA 17603.
