Obituary for Alta S. Brubaker (Zimmerman)

Alta S. Brubaker, 91, of 1622 Bowmansville Road, Mohnton, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her home after a brief illness.
Born in East Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Noah and Anna (Shirk) Zimmerman. Her husband, John D. Brubaker, died April 14, 2012.
Alta was a homemaker and a member of the Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are 13 children, Ivan, husband of the late Mary (Weaver) Brubaker of Narvon, Irvin, married to Naomi (Brubacher) Brubaker of Narvon, Allen, married to Lydia Ann (Martin) Brubaker of Narvon, Reuben, married to Dorcas (Sauder) Brubaker of Mohnton, Raymond, married to Emma (Martin) Brubaker of Denver, Paul, married to Alda (Martin) Brubaker of Curtiss, WI, Adin, married to Marian (Martin) Brubaker of Mohnton, Melvin, husband of the late Lydia Ann (Shirk) Brubaker of East Earl, Warren, married to Mary (Shirk) Brubaker of East Earl, Miriam, married to Edwin Newswanger of Narvon, Elam, married to Norma (Zimmerman) Brubaker of Mohnton, Irene, married to Isaac Burkholder of Kutztown, and Erma, married to Lamar Zimmerman of Charles City, IA; 80 grandchildren; 103 great grandchildren; three sisters, Miriam Eberly of Narvon, Bertha, married to Jonas Burkholder of Stanley, NY, and Sarah, married to Elam Nolt of East Earl; and a brother, Allen, married to Ada (Martin) Zimmerman of East Earl.
Preceding her in death are two sons, Harlan and Isaac Brubaker; five sisters, Mabel Brubacher, Esther Nolt, Anna Zimmerman, Emma Zimmerman, and Leah Hoover; and a brother, Titus Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 8 at 8:45 am at the home of Melvin Brubaker, 423 Brown Road, East Earl, with further services at 9:30 am at Weaverland Mennonite Church with the Bishop Elam Zimmerman officiating. Viewing will be held at the late home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
