Obituary for Richard H. Brouse Sr.

Richard H. Brouse, Sr., 84, a resident of Keystone Villa, Ephrata, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017.
He was the husband of the late Kathleen Carls Brouse who died in 2009. Born in Selinsgrove, PA he was the son of the late Howard and Helen Mull Brouse.
Richard was a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and was employed by Ford New Holland as a Commercial Artist in the Advertising and Communications Department for over 30 years. Following his retirement in 1991, he did freelance consulting for 3 years. He also owned the Agape Manor Bed and Breakfast on Weaverland Road in the 1980’s.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Terre Hill, and had been a Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was a longtime member of the Garden Spot Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling and was a former PA State Champion, woodworking, golfing, hunting, singing in choirs and playing and umpiring in the work softball league.
Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.
Surviving are three sons, Richard H., Jr. husband of Pamela Elliott Brouse of Narvon, Timothy C. husband of Julie Clouser Brouse of Lititz, and James A. husband of Christine Seroski Brouse of Coal Township; a daughter, Barbara L. wife of Joseph Browell, Jr. of Ephrata; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and a sister, Deanna Fetterman of Ringtown. He was preceded in death by a brother William Brouse.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 6. 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 105 W. Main St., Terre Hill, PA with the Rev. Derrick Guitterez officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
