Obituary for Erla H. Horst (Horst)
Erla H. Horst, 64, of Ephrata, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Ephrata Twp., she was a daughter of the late Eli M. and Annie H. (Horst) Horst.
She worked for many years as a Dietary Aid at Landis Homes and was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fairmount Homes and Lancaster General Hospital for their kind and professional care given to Erla.
Surviving is a brother, Eli M., Jr., married to Jennie (Eberly) Horst of Denver; and four sisters, Vera, married to Elvin Martin of Ephrata, Minerva, married to Abram Brubaker of New Holland, Eleanor Martin of Middlebury, IN, and Anna Mary, married to Enos Weaver, Jr. of New Holland.
Preceding her in death is a sister, Verna Mae Horst; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd M. Weaver.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 10 am at Fairmount Homes, Wheat Ridge Chapel, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata with the Bishop Amos G. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel, 1100 Farm Crest Dr., Ephrata and on Wednesday from 9-10 am at Fairmount Homes Wheat Ridge Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Fairmount Homes Sharing Fund, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522. Arrangements by Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
