Willy M. Bakker, 89, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Garden Spot Village. Her husband, Abram Bakker, Sr., preceded her in death in 2005.

Born in Kinderdyk, The Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Willem and Marrtje (DeGroot) Jongeling.

Willy was long affiliated with the Presbyterian denomination but in the last years was a member of The Community Church at Garden Spot Village. She was a servant of God throughout her life, volunteering with many organizations. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting and playing Bridge.

Surviving are two sons: Abram Bakker, Jr., Shiloh, NJ and Jerome Bakker, Narvon, five grandchildren and five great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by three siblings: Anna Bakker, Siep Jongeling and Aad Jongeling.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Garden Spot Village Chapel with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Grove Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel on Monday from 10:30 – 11 a.m. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorials may be sent to Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland PA 17557. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
