Obituary for Irene M. Weaver (Martin)
Irene M. Weaver, 90, of Ephrata, died Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Fairmount Homes.
Born in New Holland, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Mary (Rutt) Martin. Her husband, Hoover Weaver, died March 21, 2008.
Irene was a homemaker and a member at Weaverland Mennonite Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was active in the sewing circle. She also enjoyed quilting and baking, especially dinner rolls.
Surviving is a son, Robert Weaver of Syracuse, NY; a daughter, Carol Weaver of Ephrata; a brother, Wilmer, married to Gladys Martin of Ephrata; a sister, Ruth Ann, married to William Martin of East Earl; and a step sister, Henrietta, married to John Shertzer of Lancaster.
Preceding her in death are three siblings, Esther Snader, Carl Martin, and Mary Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 10 am at Weaverland, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, with Pastors Brian Martin, Leon Hurst, and C. Kenneth Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be on Friday from 6:30–8 pm and on Saturday from 9-10 am at the Church. To send online condolences visit us at www.groffeckenroth.com.
