Obituary for Carl A. Good

Carl A. Good, 89, of W. Maple Grove Road, Denver, died Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Fairmount Homes in Ephrata after a lengthy illness.
Born in Denver, he was the son of the late Elmer H. and Mary C. (Bender) Good. He was married 69 years on May 8 to Emma L. (Shupp) Good.
Carl owned and operated a butcher shop in Denver, Carl A. Good, Inc., for 37 years.
He was a member of the Red Run Mennonite Church and he was an avid hunter, enjoyed woodworking, the outdoors, and most recently made many woven baskets.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 children, Linda married to Edwin Metzger of Ephrata, Sandra Merklinger of Ephrata, and Carl Good, Jr. of New Holland, 5 grandchildren, Shawn Smucker, Roger Mast, Jr, Heather Mortimer, Jessica Good, and Brandon Good; and 5 great grandchildren, Kelly, Faith, Angel, Billy, and Raelyn. He was the last of his immediate family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 7 at 10 am at Bowmansville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Road, East Earl with the Bishop J. Carl Sensenig, and the Reverend Melvin Weaver officiating. Viewing will be held at the church on Sunday from 4-6 pm and Monday from 9-10 am. Interment will be in the Center Union Cemetery.
