Obituary for Miles S. Martin

Miles S. Martin, 75, of Martindale, died at his home on Monday, July 31, 2017. He was the husband of Edna W. (Shirk) Martin whom he shared 53 years of marriage on October 31.
Born in East Cocalico Twp., he was a son of the late Israel S. and Esther (Shafer) Martin.
He retired in 1997 after working 32 years at New Holland Pipe Plant.
He was a member of Martindale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons and one daughter, Louis S., married to Mabel (Shirk) Martin of Canandaigua, NY, Mervin S. Martin and Minerva S. Martin both of Martindale, Albert S., married to Lois Ann (Brubaker) Martin of Canandaigua, NY, and Ralph Martin of Martindale; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Loretta, married to Daniel B. Shirk of Denver; and six brothers, Larry, married to Kathryn (Gehman) Martin of Ephrata, Vernon, married to Vera (Fox) Martin of Ephrata, Murray, married to Mary (Zeiset) Martin of Lititz, Galen, married to Shirley (Landis) Martin of Ephrata, Delbert, married to Judy (Felpel) Martin of Ephrata, and Merion S. Martin of East Earl.
Preceding him in death is a grandson, Jonathan Martin
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4 at 9 am at the home of Mark Leid, 1126 Martindale Road, Ephrata with further services at 9:30 am at the Martindale Mennonite Church with the Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Mark Leid home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
