Edith S. Bailey, 90, of 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Landis Homes. She was married for 21 years to the late Samuel J. Bailey who died in 1995.
Born in Hinkletown, she was the daughter of the late David M. and Susanna (Sensenig) Fox.
Edith was an assembler for Miller-Hess Shoe Factory.
She had attended New Joy Church and enjoyed painting, crafts and wrote a book about her childhood.
Surviving are three daughters: Mabel (Norman) Martin, Farmersville; Edie Martin, New Holland; Florence M. (Willard) Good, Denver; three grandchildren: Austin, Emily and Dillon; a sister Alice (John) Rissler, Leola; three step-children: Jean (Clair) Wilt, James (Evelyn) Bailey, Elaine Groff; and seven step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 12 siblings: Fannie Sauder, Edna Mae Martin, Mary Ann Fox, Ivan Fox, Lydia Weaver, Harvey Fox, Raymond Fox, John Christian Fox, Henry Fox, Emma Martin, Floyd Fox and David Fox.
Her funeral will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 4 p.m. at Landis Homes West Bethany Chapel. A viewing will be held in the chapel on Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. Interment will be in Ream-Reddig Cemetery on Monday at 10 a.m. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
