Obituary for Mary Lou Good (Jenkins)

Mary Lou Good (Jenkins)
Mary Lou (Jenkins) Good, 72, of Gordonville, left this world to spend eternity with her Savior Jesus Christ on June 11, 2017.
Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband, Raymond L. Good. They were happily married for 53 years and have two wonderful children, Dawn, wife of Pastor Lynn Shertzer of Mechanicsburg, and Curtis L., husband of Andrea (Blank) Good of Quarryville; five loving grandchildren, Isaac Shertzer, Lizabeth, married to Lionel Hess, Noah Shertzer, Tristan and Quillan Good; and one loving brother, David M. Jenkins of Lancaster.
Preceding her in death is a beloved deceased twin sister, Donna Lee (Jenkins) Metzger; and a brother, Robert I. Jenkins.
Mary Lou was known for her love and affection for friends and family, an ability to connect with people of all ages and her delight in good conversation. Mary Lou added wit, sparkle and a lively presence when she entered any gathering. She always had a smile for everyone she met.
Mary Lou was born and raised in Lancaster the daughter of the late Everett G. and Rebecca M. (Hutchins) Jenkins. She was a 1963 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School.
After growing up in Lancaster she and her husband moved to Intercourse. They have a cabin in Wellsboro where they have enjoyed many happy memories in the mountains. While there they attended The Stony Fork Baptist Church in Wellsboro where Mary Lou enjoyed meeting with the church family. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in New Holland since 1971. She also attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Denver. She valued her friendships as family.
Mary Lou and her husband operated the first guest house in Intercourse, “The Amish Guest House and Cottage,” where she was introduced to people from all over the world. Since selling the business, Mary Lou has kept in contact with many of the friends that she has met through her business.
Mary Lou will be remember for her bubbly and friendly nature. Her Infectious laughter and hopefulness warmed the hearts of those who knew her. Mary Lou’s hospitality and acceptance of others was a reflection of God’s love and grace. She always knew the right thing to say and do. Mary Lou adored her 5 grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing life and Jesus with others. Because of Mary Lou’s faithfulness and dependence on her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we know God is saying, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” She rests now with her Heavenly Father.
