Robert C. "Bob"  Strickler
Robert C. Strickler, 81, of 134 Lily Ct., New Holland, died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. His wife of 43 years, Fay (Binkley) Strickler, survives.

Born in Mt. Joy, he was the son of the late Oscar G. and Melva R. (Cover) Strickler.

Bob graduated from the Milton Hershey School. He then had a sales career, starting with Sico Oil Co, Mt. Joy, UGI Corp., Lancaster Division, and then spent many years in real estate and insurance with Educators Mutual and Prudential Snyder Associates.

He was a member of the Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church, the Ephrata Lodge #665, F & A.M.; Life member of the Pagoda Club, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 32, Reading, and the Rajah Shriners International, and the Clover Park Athletic Association.

Bob traveled extensively throughout the world, visiting all seven continents. He was an avid Penn State and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Surviving is his wife, a daughter Kathy Sue Shelley, Columbia; three grandchildren: Jessica married to Mark Loker, Washington, D. C.; Michael married to Leah Shelley, Baltimore; Katie married to Derrick Armold, Philadelphia; two great-granddaughters Eliza and Evy; and two brothers Henry married to Pat Strickler, Manheim and Amos Strickler, Lititz.

He was preceded in death by three sisters Jean Rice, Patricia Chant and Catherine Gallagher and a brother Kenneth Strickler.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Garden Spot Village Chapel, with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. Interment will be private in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Adamstown. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Thursday from 10:30 – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland PA 17557 or the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
