Obituary for Melvin R. Zimmerman

Melvin R. Zimmerman, 60, of Narvon, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his residence. He was the husband of Katie L. Zimmerman, with whom he shared over 35 years of marriage.

Born in East Earl, he was a son of the late Harvey S. and Ella N. (Reiff) Zimmerman.

He was a farmer and a member of Bowmansville Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

In addition to his wife, Melvin is survived by 13 siblings: Ammon R. Zimmerman, married to Lydia (Weaver), of Orrstown, Aaron R. Zimmerman, married to Mary L. (Hoover), of Owen, WI, Harvey R. Zimmerman, married to Arlene (Shirk), of Narvon, Norman R. Zimmerman, married to Vera R. (Oberholtzer), of Shippensburg, Edwin R. Zimmerman, married to Ellen (Martin), of Penn Yan, NY, Mary R. Shirk, married to David. M., of East Earl, John R. Zimmerman, married to Nancy E. (Shirk), of Narvon, Reuben R. Zimmerman, married to Marion N. (Sensenig), of Penn Yan, NY, Raymond R. Zimmerman, married to Etta L. (Zimmerman), of Penn Yan, NY, Paul R. Zimmerman, married to Wilma N. (Reiff), of Newville, Mabel R. Zimmerman, married to Raymond H., of Leola, David R. Zimmerman of East Earl, and Ella R. Sensenig, married to Curvin N., of Penn Yan, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law Edna M. Zimmerman.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 9 AM at his late home, 998 Reading Rd., Narvon PA 17555 with further services at 9:30 AM at Bowmansville Mennonite Church with Bishop Elam Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be held at his late home on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Kindly omit flowers.
