Daniel H. Beam, 91, of Ephrata, died Friday, February 24, 2017 at Fairmount Homes. His wife, Ruth G. (Leid) Beam, preceded him in death in 1988.
Born in Morgantown, he was the son of the late William H. and Ada (Hertzler) Beam.
Daniel was last employed as a tow motor operator for Terre Hill Silo Company. Following retirement, he worked at Weaver’s Market.
He was a member of Blue Ball Church of the Brethren but attended Calvary Church.
Daniel had an extensive collection Winross trucks and tractors. He also enjoyed going to Rough and Tumble. In his later years, he enjoyed many outings and his favorite was Chic-fil-A.
Surviving are two children: Wanda L. Beam and Allen R. Beam, both of Ephrata; six siblings: Omar married to Ruth Beam, Honey Brook; Titus married to Violet Beam, Honey Brook; Dale married to Lil Beam, Canoga Park, CA; Arlene married to Clair Eberly, East Earl; James married to Carol Beam, Morgantown; Frances married to Wayne Gunzenhauser, Lancaster; and a sister-in-law, Lois Beam, Reading.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Susanna Snader and a brother Glenn Beam.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11 A.M. at the Farm Crest Chapel of Fairmount Homes with Galen Weaver officiating. Private interment will be in Hahnstown United Zion Cemetery.
