Obituary for Anne D. Rogers (Feldkamp)

Anne D. Rogers, 83, of Denver, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Reading Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Bremen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Hienrich and Wilhelmine (Krieten) Feldkamp. Her husband, Herbert M. Rogers, died Feb. 18, 2006.
Anne was lovingly referred to as Oma (grandma) by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as by the numerous children she raised as a babysitter during her working life. Her love and devotion for her family was unsurpassed. She was the glue that bound all together! She was a tireless worker who raised a family, tended a large garden and worked at her husband’s side on their small holdings farm. Her one regret in life was not having quit cigarette smoking which eventually caused the COPD which limited her life to an oxygen machine the last five years and eventually caused her death.

Surviving are three children, Herbert R. Rogers of Denver, H. Robert, married to Sherri (Lawson) Rogers of Taylorsville, KY, and Sandra A., married to Ronald E. Hynds of Terre Hill; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a sister Ursula Duelge of Wallhoefen, Germany.
Preceding her in death are 9 brothers and sisters, Werner Feldkamp, Klara Prigger, Heinz Feldkamp, Kate Klesch, Wilhem Feldkamp, Else Klewer, Gerhard Feldkamp, Otto Feldkamp, and Elizabeth Feldkamp.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 23 at 10 am at Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill, with Lonnie D. Sellers officiating. Interment will be in the Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 2-4 pm and on Monday from 9-10 am at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hershey Children’s Hospital, www.givetopennstatehershey.org. To send the family online condolences visit us at www.groffeckenroth.com.
