Obituary for Norma M. Dunlap

Norma M. Dunlap
Norma M. Dunlap, 91, of New Holland, formerly of Terre Hill, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at her home.

Norma was born in Terre Hill at 416 Maple St. where she resided until 2008, when she moved to Garden Spot Village. She was very proud of having lived for 83 years in the house where she was born, and thereafter loved her apartment and the people at Garden Spot Village.

She was the daughter of the late Spencer R. and Mary E. (Miller) Wolf. Her husband, Benjamin C. Dunlap, died March 11, 2008.

Norma worked as a secretary for several years at Bollman's Hat Factory in Adamstown before having children. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Terre Hill. She also was a member of the Blue Ball Lioness Club, for which she was a star saleswoman for its annual Easter Egg fundraiser, and the Cloister chapter of Eastern Star in Ephrata. She enjoyed playing pinochle, painting and writing clever poems for special occasions of family and friends.

She was a devoted wife and mother to her husband Ben and daughter Debra A.
Dunlap, particularly in their final years. Debra preceded her in death in 2004.

Surviving is her loving son, Benjamin C. Dunlap, Jr., married to David M.
Leas of Elizabethtown; and two cousins, Miller Coleman of Zerbe Sisters in Narvon, and Dorothy Leland of New York City, NY. Also surviving her are many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as many long-time friends, especially from her church and Garden Spot Village.

A memorial service and life celebration will be held on Saturday, January 21, at 10:30 am at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New
Holland, with the Reverend Derrick Gutierrez officiating. Viewing will be
held on Monday, January 16, from 1:30 - 3 pm at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill. Private interment will be at the Terre Hill Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, PO Box 670, Terre Hill, PA 17581. To send the family online condolences visit us at www.groffeckenroth.com
