Emma M. (Zeiset) Horst, 88, of 1507 Union Grove Road, East Earl, died January 4, 2017 at her home. She was preceded in death by her late husband John Henry Horst.
Born in Churchtown, she was a daughter of the late John M. and Lydia (Martin) Zeiset. She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Grove Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.
She is survived by her children: Esther, married to Edward Zimmerman, Thorp, WI; Mahlon, married to Ruth (Redcay) Horst, Morgantown, PA; Irvin, married to Mary (Garman) Horst, East Earl, PA; Aaron, married to Loretta (Metzler) Horst, Denver, PA; Lucy, married to Melvin Hoover, New Holland, PA; Laura, married to Nelson Horst, Thorp, WI; John, Jr., married to Anna Mary (Martin) Horst, Narvon, PA; Emma, married to Clyde Horst, Stanley, WI, David, married to Ruth (Martin) Horst, Narvon, PA; Mary Ann, married to Vernon Martin, Penn Yan, NY; Anna Mae, married to Nelson Martin, Shippensburg, PA; 75 grandchildren and 148 great-grandchildren; her three brothers: Paul (Leah Zimmerman) Zeiset, East Earl, Jonas (Anna Nolt) Zeiset, Narvon, and Ivan (Naomi Ringler) Zeiset, East Earl; her eight sisters: Mary Horning, East Earl, Alta Sauder, Shippensburg, and Mabel (Abram Martin), Latham, MO, Laura (Leroy Zimmerman), Ephrata, Vera (Levi Leid), East Earl, Eva (Isaac Martin), Fortuna, MO, Esther Weaver, East Earl, and Lena (Abram Ringler), Narvon.
She was preceded in death by her sisters: Anna Weaver, an infant Edna, Martha Martin, and Lydia Nolt; her brothers: Martin, Phares, John, Aaron, and Eli; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 9 AM at the late home with further services at 9:30 AM at the Spring Grove Mennonite Church with the Bishop Elam Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the late home on Monday, January 9 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Kindly omit flowers.
