Lois A.  Derr (Albert)
Lois A. Derr, 86, formally of Ephrata, Akron area and Lititz, passed away quietly on Saturday December 10, 2016 at Maple Farm, Akron PA.
Born in Lancaster and raised in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late George and Ethel Albert of Mt Joy PA.
Lois attended Columbia High School and was employed and retired after 35 years as a tube inspector for RCA Corp in 1995. Lois loved traveling to the beach, visiting her friends and the fun times with family made her happy in later years. The last 2 years she enjoyed her life residing at Keystone Villa, Ephrata. Bingo, country rides, entertainment shows, the dining room and socializing at her hairdresser appointments; all provided by the great staff of Keystone were highlights during her stay.
Surviving children; one son, Robert L Derr Jr., husband to (Kathy) of Lititz; and two daughters, Wanda M Jones, wife to (Dick) of New Holland, and Kathleen Derr Francis of Cherry Hill, NJ; Eight Grandchildren, Danielle (Jack) Van Natta of CO, Bree (John) Arvai of MI, R. Andrew Derr (Melissa) of Bainbridge, Ben L Jones (Gwen) of Akron, Mindy Fulton (Jason) of Ephrata, Julia Shaklee-Sammons (Damian) of Philadelphia, Lesley Lonergan (Andy) of CO, Ian Francis (Sher) of UT; 22 great grandchildren; one niece, Gwenda Smith; and three nephews, Mitch and Scott Albert, and Gary Eshleman all formally of Mt. Joy.
Preceded in death by two brothers, George “Prince” and Ralph Albert; and one sister, Eleanor Eshleman.
Friends and family are invited to attend services at Akron Church of the Brethren, 613 Main Street, Akron PA on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 am visitation/viewing, followed by service by Pastor Tom Weber.
Burial at E-town Mennonite cemetery, will be private at convenience of family.
Omit flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way Lancaster PA 17603, Diabetic Association of Lancaster or Akron Church of the Brethren.
