Obituary for John E. Campbell

John E. Campbell, 95, of 522 E. Spruce St., New Holland, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred M. (Musser) Campbell in 2010.

Born in Willow Street, he was the son of the late Martin and Annie (Hess) Campbell.

John was a self-employed as a farmer for 30 years and as a trucker for 45 years. He loved to tinker and learn how to do new things. The past several years, he spent time volunteering at the ReUzit Shop of New Holland. He was a member of New Holland Mennonite Church.

Surviving are three children: John married to Anna (Zimmerman) Campbell, Cowgill, MO; Carl married to Janice (Weber) Campbell, Mooresville, NC; Joyce Campbell companion of Ross Althouse, New Holland; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a cousin raised by his family, Mabel Pickel, Willow Street.

He was preceded in death by four siblings: Rhoda Wenger, Paul Campbell, Raymond Campbell, and Anna Mae Campbell.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. at New Holland Mennonite Church, 18 Western Ave., New Holland with Pastor Dawn Ranck Hower officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10 – 11 a.m. Interment will be private in New Holland Mennonite Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers.
