Clarence M. “Jack” Buch, 89, of New Holland, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at Fairmount Homes after a brief illness.
Born in in Vera Cruz, PA, he was the son of the late Phares and Mary (Miller) Buch. He was married 69 years on August 2 to Betty (Roth) Buch.
Jack served as Earl Twp. Supervisor for 42 years retiring in 2002. He also worked as a Lime Spreader for Burkholder Quarry where he built the first lime spreader tandum trailer. He also owned and operated a fleet of trucks for many years.
He was a member of the New Holland Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Republican Party. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, snowmobiling, fishing, running marathons, and horses.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Linda D., married to Clair Sensenig of Akron, Judy A., married to Charles Gates of Mullica Hill, NJ, and Bev E., married to Warren Nagle of New Holland; a daughter-in-law, Dorie Buch of Martindale; nine grandchildren, Kimberly, Bryan, Christopher, James, Stefanie, Sonya, Melissa, Tara, and Brent; three great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen Eberly of Denver, Pearl Eberly of Manheim, and Pauline, married to John Matthews of Ephrata.
Preceding him in death is a son Rick Buch; a granddaughter, Heather Gates; and a sister, Mary Jane Devonshire.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11 am at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland with the Rev. Dr. I. Charles Gates officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Viewing will be held on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 9-11 am.
